The Matthew Project Outside the Wire

The Matthew Project Outside the Wire team are themselves ex-forces and understand the needs and issues faced by veterans, current serving personnel and their families.  They are sensitive to the complexities of military life and the often understandable resistance to admitting the extent of any personal issues, especially those relating to PTSD and other mental health; alcohol and drug use; domestic violence and family-related issues. Based in the Britannia Veterans centre, their number is 01603 733233.

Stand Easy

Stand Easy is a charity with a single, clear focus: to help veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Our starting point is that everyone is different. So rather than treating PTSD, we treat the individual. When veterans contact us we meet them within a few days, so there are no waiting lists, no bureaucracy and no endless referrals. Our goal is to lift the burden of trauma as soon as possible, enabling veterans to begin to live.
